Winners will be notified by telephone and in writing in May 2010, as indicated on the schedule (in the ABOUT THE COMPETITION section).

Submissions must be individual. If more than one person is to be credited with the design, then up to three names can be listed in Odegard’s credits to the winning entries. The First, Second and Third Prize are awarded to one individual who is listed as “Submitter” on the Entry Form. Transfer of such prize, or part thereof, to an individual other than the submitter is subject to Odegard ’s sole discretion.

 

  • $1,500 Cash Prize.
  • Free travel within the continental USA and 2 nights’ lodging to attend the Award Ceremony in New York City.
  • The winner will be CONSIDERED for a two week residency in the Open Studios program at the Museum of Arts and Design in New York City.
  • Carpet executed from winning design in 6’ x 9’ size will be given to the First Prize winner.
  • Carpet design made from the winning entry will become part of the Odegard line and will be offered for sale at all Odegard owned locations for a period of three years. After introduction of the winning design into the Odegard collection, Odegard will pay a five percent royalty to the creator of the winning design. Such royalty will be computed on no less than a quarterly basis, and calculated on actual net selling prices.
  • Subject to availability, winner will be offered a two month paid internship at one of Odegard’s US showrooms.

  • $1,000 Cash Prize.
  • Free travel within the continental USA and 2 nights’ lodging to attend the Award Ceremony in New York City.

  • $500 Cash Prize.
  • Free travel within the continental USA and 2 nights’ lodging to attend the Award Ceremony in New York City.

Each juror will have the option to select, at his or her own discretion, a particular design(s) that in the juror’s opinion warrants a special honorary mention. Such award(s) will be an additional Odegard Award(s), which will be awarded by Odegard in that juror’s name. There is no prize money or trip awarded in conjunction with the juror’s award.
